Burden of Malaria in Sub-Saharan Africa

Writer's picture: Bispharm ClinicalBispharm Clinical

The lingering burden of malaria infections and deaths across Sub-Saharan Africa is indefensible. This is because the spread of malaria resulting from mosquito bites can be prevented, controlled, or treated with efficacious and safe antimalarials and vaccines.

Nigeria accounted for a staggering 31.3% of malaria deaths worldwide, according to WHO reports in 2022, despite the rapid advancement in drug and vaccine development, which has revolutionised disease management in recent times.

At Bispharm Clinical, we believe that no region deserves to record such high malaria-related mortality and morbidity rates as seen in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is why we are unequivocally ready to stir the #endmalariacampaign by pioneering white-glove management of malaria vaccine trials in the region.
