Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is a hereditary disorder that affects the transport of oxygen in the body. The condition causes red blood cells to become sickle-shaped, impeding their smooth passage through blood vessels. This leads to a range of health issues, including anaemia, fatigue, susceptibility to infections, debilitating pain episodes and stroke.
Beyond the physiological challenges, sickle cell anaemia also poses complex medical and social challenges.
We provide a platform for ethical therapeutic testing and application of groundbreaking SCD research in Nigeria.
Bispharm Clinical addresses the immediate challenges of SCD and lays the foundation for precision medicine approaches for a largely neglected patient population.
